Question about beginning exercise.

Hello!!!
Im going to start out by saying, Im not sure i like this exercise thing.
For the past three months ive been walking (50+ miles) and for those in northern usa know how cold its been so this month ive been using treadmill at a 2.5% incline instead of outdoors. I also had the brilliant idea to do the C25k program starting this month so i can learn to run. In the end i end up doing 2-5 miles per day (the 2mile days are the c25k days. I don't think ill ever be able to run 3.1 miles in 1/2 hour but thats a post for another day im on day 5 of c25k).
Here's my question, my legs always have a consistent muscle soreness- is that normal? Should i just continue working out and hope it goes away?
Its not like 'ouch ouch ouch' soreness but more like "hey don't forget your legs are here" sore. In morning it's a bit worse but it goes away once i start moving.
Does this happen to anyone else? Could it be the treadmill? Does it go away?

Has this soreness only been happening since you began running this month? If so, it's most likely a normal reaction to you using different muscles (you use different muscles when you walk than when you run). Sometimes the cold will cause soreness as well. Make sure you stretch your muscles when you finish your workout. If it doesn't get any better in a week or so you may want to make an appointment with your doc just in case, though!
Feel free to friend me!0 -
Keep at it!! I started C25K in September and made it through week 5 before it got too cold to run outside and I don't have a treadmill. I found by week 4 or so, I was WAY less sore. The first 2 weeks were the hardest0

The soreness is normal, it will pass.
But it could be that if you are not enjoying it, that cardio is not for you. I thought I would NEVER enjoy exercising until I picked up weight lifting! Now I can't wait for my gym days!0 -
Im not sure if cardio is for me but i see it changing my body and i love that!! Lol.
Im going to redo week 2. I was better today. I even did a 3.5 mile walk after. So hopefully it'll pass.
Thank you!!!0
