NEW DAY, NEW PLAN

So, a little history on me...I have kept off 70 pounds since 6/2008- lost 40 of them on my own on a diet of 1000 calories/day and less than 20 grams of fat until I was going CRAZY and then joined WW for the last 30. I went from a size 16 to a size 6, although truly, my hips are more comfortable in an 8 while my waist is a 4...so, I average it out by buying 6's?!?!
I have found that maintaining my weight is much harder than losing it ever was...the daily struggle to balance exercise with not only the right amount of calories, but also the right KIND of calories is almost overwhelming at times! I found myself in the routine of subsisting on 100 calorie snack packs and bran cereal, which kept my calories under control, but didn't give me the protein, fiber and other nutrients I need - all while doing a minimum of 2 hours of cardio each day. I was tired, cranky and hungry all of the time!
So, since last week, I've made a new plan...I focus on eating fewer carbs and more lean meats and vegetables and I have to say, it's quite refreshing! I enjoyed meatloaf this past weekend - something I haven't had in FOREVER! I have also found that I don't get as hungry as often and feel more satisfied since I'm eating small, healthy "meals" instead of empty "snacks."
I would actually like to lose another 5 pounds, so we'll see how this works for me. I'm still doing at least 2 hours of cardio each day, but also have a plan to incorporate toning into my routine at least three days a week over the winter. I'm ready to tone up those areas that still aren't where I want them to be!
Hopefully, with a new goal, I'll regain the inspiration that moved me to lose weight in the first place!

Congrats! It sounds like you've made a personal breakthrough!
I've made similar changes - decreased my carbs, eat lots of lean protein and veggies - and I feel SOOOO much better than I used to. Now when I eat processed snacks (even "healthy" ones), I just don't feel as good. I don't believe that carbs are evil or anything like that, but I do think many people eat way too many and tend to eat the processed, unhealthy carbs rather than the healthier, unprocessed (or lightly processed) carbs.
