Breastfeeding and weight loss question.

I was just curious as I'm not really sure how it works but I am breastfeeding and they have always said that you need around 500 extra calories to keep your supply from dropping. I originally started off with like 1,400 that MFP had on there but added the 500 so that it came up to 1,900 after which I ran my BMR and found it was around 1,900 for my stats( 5'3" and 257lbs). My question is do I need to add the 500 on top of that 1,900 or am I good where I'm at? I usually don't eat all of my calories and by the end of the day I end up somewhere over 2,000 after adding in exercise. I haven't experienced any drops in supply or anything so I don't know if I should or not.

I would talk with your doc as you're not just looking out for yourself here, you're looking out for your little one. Your doc can suggest the 'healthiest' format for the both of you.0
