The peanut butter one was very telling. For those who count calories, you get so little bang for your buck from peanut butter. Yet it's one of the most gorged foods around. I've seen a few people just this week on MFP coping to eating an entire jar in a day.

Thanks for the link. I'm a visual person so seeing the pics helped me understand some of the choices.

I agree. I'm one of those people - I ate SO MUCH peanut butter yesterday but it was so worth it

I think the peanut butter is very telling too...considering everyone touts "all the protien" 200 calories is just over 2 servings and that is 12 grams of protien...it's an okay source but I wouldn't call it a "good" source.

I liked the fruit loops tho, that's what I had for breakfast.

I like this, at the end of the day I try to eat the most volume within the little amount of calories I usually have left, makes me feel like I ate a ton

Those are the Smarties I grew up on in the 80s and 90s.

Are you talking about the ones that look more like pastel colored M&Ms?

The Smarties I know look pretty much like M&Ms; candy covered chocolate.

These ones labelled Smarties candy look like Rockets (pastel chalk-like)

edit: a quick search shows me in Canada they are called Rockets so not to be confused with Nestle smarties.

Which is interesting because I had heard that kids were crushing up smarties and snorting them (urban legend I hope/think) and couldn't see how that wouldn't be incredibly messy if there were the chocolate ones.

Do they have these in the US? If so, what do you call them?

I love the real Smarties (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smarties). Probably a good thing we don't find them in the US.

Never realized Werther caramels have so few calories. Now I'm annoyed I did grocery shopping this morning.

Also keep in mind that the people using peanut butter are usually trying to INCREASE their calorie intake, not restrict. If you have 2345 calories a day to work with, it's not hard to work PB in. If you're on a bulking cycle and trying to get well over 3000 or even 4000 calories a day, half a jar of PB might be a tasty and, most importantly, small volume way of getting to that number.
