Help Fight Hunger Pains

You know the feeling. That "growling" sensation in your stomach. That pain you feel when it seems like you haven't eaten in a long time. You could have eaten an hour ago and you get it, or twelve hours ago (bad you for doing that, but sometimes you have to).
What does it mean when you get this feeling? And what are some foods you should eat to prevent it? Or to help fight it?

I take it to mean I'm hungry and need to eat (been told this is wrong on here). I go eat something to make it go away.0

If it's not digestion it's usually hunger, unless you suffer with trapped wind.0

For me, it depends on several factors. If I have just eaten an hour or so prior, it usually means that I'm bored/stressed. If I can, I change up what I'm doing, drink water or hot tea and that feeling usually goes away. If it doesn't, then I have a small snack (fruit/veg/etc). I don't believe that starving yourself is the only way to lose weight. If you are a "grazer", then spread out your meals; eat different meal items over a period of time. I know, for me, that if I let myself get too hungry, then I can't seem to fill up. I'm better off eating smaller, more frequent meals/snacks. Also focus on eating protein and/or foods high in fiber. That will help keep you satisfied longer.0

What I do is schedule my meals. I have 3 decent size meals and 3 snacks in between. This way I never get hunger pains and a lot of the times I find I don't eat some of the snacks. Surprisingly enough I end up eating less this way and hunger is kept at bay.0

I have breakfast at 7am, a snack at 9:30-10, lunch around noon, another snack 2:30-3:00, dinner around 6 and a snack around 7:30 or 8. I stay within my calorie allotment and I never feel hungry. I try to keep my snacks at around 100 calories. If I think I'm hungry I drink a glass of water first, it usually goes away, if not I eat some carrots or an apple. I think your body will eventually get used to a schedule, so try to eat at the same time every day if at all possible. I'm no nutritionist, but this has worked for me.0
