Recently lost all interest in fruit and vegetables . . .

For most of my life, I've been able to get my 5/day in without trying too hard - but lately, vegetables and fruit just don't sound appetizing at all.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any idea why?

I love fruit and vegetables and crave them most of the time. I have to say though, I go through phases where I don't want to see them and just want things like pasta/rice. Luckily that only lasts a few days. I think this happens to me when I deprive myself of other food groups.
Another theory, is that when my blood sugar is low I want the carbs, and veggies just wont cut it! Good Luck!
  • Not sure why this is happening to you however,.i personally just dont like taking most vegtables. I take a supplement that provides me with my 8 servings of fruits and vegtables in one scoop in the morning.

check it out it is called Greens

For me, I've always been a picky eater and the thing for me is texture. What my wife does to combat this is puree's a lot of things for me. Either make a smoothie, or a soup, etc. This helps me get the servings I need, and I won't be gagging when there's a texture I wouldn't normally like!

I used to live a life full of daily vegetables and succulent, low-hanging fruit. But over time, I noticed I was having less and less; The interest just wasn't there.

It turns out that I had "low-t", but my doctor changed all of that.

He gave me Androgel. It has such a vile taste that I immediately face-plant into a bowl of fruit just to clear it from my tongue! Now, I get all the fruits and veggies I need! Thanks Androgel!

Sounds like you are just in a rut. Maybe you are bored with what you usually have? Try experimenting with new recipes or fruits & veggies you've never had before.
  • I don't have the urge to eat people, living flesh, or brains - so I don't think I've been bitten by a zombie . . .

However, I have been abstaining from sweets for a couple of months now. Maybe I'm just wanting more calorie dense foods to compensate. If that's true, my problem will correct itself in 15 days!

Over the holidays did you eat a lot of junkier foods? Or more decadent foods? :P I think that's why I've lost my interest. Either way, you aren't alone! We're on the same boat!

I like to scramble it up in an eggy scramble, or tuck them in lasagna or meatloaf. Well, I love vegies, so I put them in everything. But in your case putting them in stuff like casseroles might be a way to disguise them.
