Confirms that some people have bigger issues than "lack of will power."

Interesting...thanks for the link. As a compulsive overeater/food addict, it has been a hard road to walk. Abstinence of trigger foods is my new way of living. Moderation is not an option for me.

Meh...inconclusive at best. Lots of use of the word "may" and a quote at the end from someone not even involved in the study.

Over four years ago, I claimed to be a victim of my genetics and an obsession or addiction to food. Once I started using the right tools and working on changing my mindset, I was able to make improvements. I won't deny that certain medical conditions, genetics and predispositions make it harder to lose weight but that doesn't mean it's impossible. IMHO, too many people use these types of diagnosis to label themselves as some sort of victim and use that as an excuse not to change their bad habits. A better approach is to recognize it and then work on changing it as much as you're able.

    6% proves nothing ....

"May..." was said too many times and the fact they said it had to do with women (no men), age, marital status and geography...sure...

Sounds like they want to give single middle aged woman an excuse to eat whatever they want...I suspect if those women were interested in a partner or had a hobby things would be different hence the whole "food addict" thing being a load of BS.
