Back again!

Hi guys and girls, I have just finished day one of re-joining and I have to admit I feel better already, however I am starting from ground zero (again) and I would really like some tips on how to get my self on here every day and not be worried about putting my cals on my food diary, and thinking the worst is going to happen, i.e iv gone over my cals or not had enough. How do I do this with out over doing it? Thank you in advance x

For starters, it would be helpful to reflect on the program you made for yourself the first time and figure out why you abandoned it. Was it too restrictive? Too hard? You weren't really ready?

Do some math and figure out a reasonable (not excessive) loss goal. Cook food. Exercise moderately. There is no reason to kill yourself. Eat a variety to make sure you cover all your nutritional bases. Save calories for treats. Don't think of food as bad.

When I started I did stay out of restaurants for a few months because it was just too hard for me at the time to figure out how to eat there. Eventually, I learned to view menus and calories for some places on-line and plan accordingly. I did, and still do, always ask for a carry-out box to arrive with my meal. I carefully divide the whole meal in half, put half in the box, and get it out of sight.

At home, I eat only food I really like. I look forward to everything I eat. My main rule is that I will do nothing today that I cannot continue to do for the rest of my life.

It's easy to get caught up in the numbers and beat yourself up when they don't go right. Just remember it's not a race so when you do slip it's not the end of the world. Adjust and keep pushing.
