Evaluate your journey: past, present and future...

How long have you been on your journey and how much progress have you made? What has worked and what hasn't? What will you do differently this year?

Started mine back in July at 7 weeks postpartum. I ate at 1200 calories and walked after lunch. I lost 20 lbs by 5 months postpartum (almost halfway to goal weight). I gained back a pound but otherwise maintained well without trying or exercising (even through the holidays... no idea how that happened!). Two weeks ago I decided it was time to lose the rest of the weight and tone up, and so far eating at 1400 calories and working out almost every day is working. :)

    Good luck on your journeys!

Hard to say how long- the weight crept on over a number of years, but I'd say I've spent the last 3 years getting it back under control.

What has worked- learning portion control. Keeping carbs and protein targets about 100g per day. 5:2 ing. Running. Finding what works for me, knowing everyone will be different.

This year? Keep on with running training, get my bmi comfortably under 25, do more strength training.

I've been dealing with my extra weight about 10 years but have started on the weight loss again in December. So far it is going well thanks to help from MFP.

Past - Horrible gain at a very difficult period in my life
Present - Happy with my loss and am working hard as ever
Future - Hopefully the flat/toned body I want and possibly abs if I want to really push myself, one step at a time...
