Really Struggling...

Good morning all... I don't even know where to start.....
I've been with MFP / WW off and on for the last 18 mos, I think. I do pretty good for a little bit, and then I seem to turn around and go in the totally opposite direction. For instance, I've come back to counting calories this last 3 weeks. I've lost a couple of pounds, and then I gain it all back. I get so frustrated. Not only with myself, but everything around me. I'm 56, and going through Menopause. I know that I can do this, but this last couple of days, I'm saying to myself..... why the hell are you putting that in your mouth? Why are you doing this? You know what to do, why aren't you doing it? I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. (She hangs her head) I've had more conversations with myself lately, it's like I have another person right here beside me.....
I feel like I've lost my direction...and I'm not sure how to go about getting it back. Sorry I sound so down, but I'm not quite sure how to get around this...

Have you talked to your doctor about how going through menopause is going to impact your weight loss efforts? That's the big thing that stood out in your post to me as far as why you could be having trouble, provided your calorie counts are accurate.0

We are all strugglers...you are no different! Be kind to yourself! I guess you have to ask yourself how badly you want this. Are you setting up your environment (kitchen, fridge, work area) to support your new eating habits? Do your loved ones support you, or are they sabotagers? Are you overly stressed out at this time in your life?
In my mind, this takes two things. Determination, and organization. You CAN do this!!! We are all here to support you!0 -
I think putting your struggle here in public is a good place to start. Tough question, do you really have your mind set to do this? I am 48, I know I have to change my ways and change them now or I am headed for a multitude of health problems, many that run in my family. How is your living situation, are you able to clean the house of less than healthy foods? Always go shopping after eating when you are not hungry. Be prepared, cook and do prep work on days off ( if you work outside the home). Plan menus ahead of time, learn how to make those vegetables taste great, Really focus on how proud you are of yourself when you accomplish even the smallest move in the right direction and you will look forward to feeling good about yourself again, over and over, Think on the positive !
