Raising my fiber intake

So, after rather comical results this morning trying to raise my fiber intake (two fiber one bars in less than 24 hours), I'm realizing my body has been getting WAY too little fiber for way too long. So, how can I raise my intake without the... err... negative side effects.
I'm guessing I should try to raise it just a couple grams a week or something?

Yeah, I would try to slowly up it, not all at once! Your digestive system can't take it!! hehehe! The Fiber One bars are so good too!!0

Taking it slow is a good route to go...it can also help your body to adjust if you eat a lot of water dense, high fiber foods...fruits and veggies...instead of going 'hard core' with the fiber one products right away.0

Okay, let me just tell you... FIBER ONE bars make me jet-propelled if you know what I mean!!! :blushing:
Try Thomas Light Multi-Grain English muffins - low on cals, high in fiber. Also, get in your greens and your beans, baby!!!
Yeah, I'd just gradually add in your fiber - your body should adjust after a while.
Good luck!!!0 -
Ooooh, I love the Thomas light muffins, there so good! Yummy!!!0

Hi
The FiberOne bars are a tad potent
I would suggest light whole wheat or muti-grain bread, TJ wheat bran muffins
Take it slow

absolutely go slowly, I once did it too fast and like you boy did I get taught a lesson. lol
Gradually up it with Fibre1 cereals, all bran bars and don't forget natural soluble figures like pears, apples, spinach.
Kidney Beans has A LOT of fibre. Just add one thing a day or week, its up too you and try to eat those things almost everyday or at least the same amount of it everyday alternating fruits and different beans, try eating spinach instead of regular lettuces, etc.
I get almost my recommended fibre intake daily and sometimes I go over (slightly). Of course I have my bad days where I didnt really get enough. We are all human.0 -

Just don't raise it like I did:
I didn't raise it slowly and upped it dramatically in three days. Obviously, I don't need to tell you what happened as consequence but it wasn't pretty.
Do it slowly0
