Water we waiting for?

Water weight is your body retaining water. Your fat cells pump themselves with water, when you lose weight you lose this excess water. Sometimes it can take a few weeks because your body is stubborn.
High salt diets tend to help your body retain water, that said water weight is pretty simple. Drink lots of water and your body doesn't need to retain it. So it flushes it out.
When you lose weight, that first 5-10lbs is probably due to being bloated and water. Its good though because visually it can make quite a difference.0 -

Water wait is when female water molecules get ready to go out on the town and don't have a thing to wear.0

I am so glad this thread is full of puns it made my morning.
Water weight is your cells retaining water thus causing 2-4 pounds of weight fluctuations.0 -

Oh, Monday morning entertainment.....
Your body will hold onto water based on how much sodium you've consumed, how many carbs you've eaten, or whether you've done exercise that's done minor damage to muscles that must be repaired. When you drink water and your body holds onto it rather than pass it out via your kidneys your weight will increase (a gallon of water weighs approximately eight pounds). When your body is ready to release the water your weight will go back down.0 -
Not as bad as "board" instead of "bored" "naw" instead of "now, "cewl" instead of "cool", "frew" instead of "through". All these I have seen on FB.0

Noooooooo, god nooooo. Fat cells are full of FAT! Duh
Water weight is around 5lb of water that sits in your muscles and liver to hold glycogen, or your carbohydrate reserves. When you go into calorie deficit your body uses up this storage of glycogen for energy, thereby releasing the water. When you eat more again your body replenishes it's supply of glycogen and then comes the water again, eg water weight. It's what healthy bodies do.
edit: sodium too, will cause an increase in water in your blood, this can also contribute.0 -
