My recent experience with weight watchers....

So.. I started Weight Watchers last week to help get me more motivated and try something a little different in my quest to get healthier and loose some extra baggage. I joined with my mom and my aunt, and the professionals suggested we all try the "New Quick Start Program" for the first two weeks. It's basically eating off a list of approved "power-foods" and not really counting the "points"... you're supposed to loose up to 5 lbs in two weeks.
So here's the fun part, i followed the program to the letter and counted the calories in my "tracker" as well and ended up GAINING 2lbs!! In the first week!!
I went back through the tracker and was around 100 cal +/- of what i eat on fitness pal. So aggravating! Did anyone have a similar experience? and WHY??

  • Are you sure you're not retaining water from eating too much sodium (or from some other reason)? Are you constipated? Did you increase your workout routine? Sometimes muscles can temporarily retain water.

I bet you are retaining water weight. Like the above poster mentioned, if you just started working out your muscles will retain water making the scale not reflect what's REALLY happening. Give it another week or two and I bet you will find the scale "catching up" to your new eating and workout plan. Also make sure you drink your recommended water amount. Best wishes! :)
