So I am doing amazingly well. Body is looking good blah blah blah
I have been struck down with lurgy of ming and my body just wants to eat and eat (my throat disagrees and keeps trying to slam shut)
Any truth in that feed a fever?
I keep trying to convince myself that I will heal faster if I eat more... I am kidding myself right?
I don't want this to be the thing that knocks me off course.

I had to Google "lurgy". I thought I was well-versed in Brit terms!
Honestly, when I'm sick, I don't worry about calories (other than trying to make sure I'm getting enough) and just eat. If you've got an appetite and can keep foods down, I say go for it (and keep as healthy as possible), along with plenty of fluids and rest. I try to give my body everything it needs to fight off the bug and get myself well as quickly as possible.

Had to laugh at some of your word choices! Funny slang I guess.
Continue on your current path, don't let this get you off track. Try moving to more comforting foods that fit into your goals like soup, or frozen treats to help with your throat!
As well, drink lots of fluids and take some meds if you need to!0 -
When I'm ill, I eat what sounds good. As a rule it is about 2 pieces of toast, then back to bed, rinse & repeat 2-3 more times. It only lasts a day or so then I get back on track. Your body is burning calories fighting off infection so you do need to replace those. Just look at it as a free day(s) and not sweat it too much. No pun intended.
You'll get back on track shortly. I hope you feel better soon, I'm in week two of the H1N1 strain of influenza and wouldn't wish it on anyone.0 -

The dreaded lugry is noting to trifle with.... But best bet is to stay on program and dont let this knock you off course. I am sure you will feel better soon. Just remember no one on MFP ever died of lurgy.0 -
Well after an evening of making food, staring at it for half hour and putting it in the bin, I have taken codeine and managed some protein pancakes. So much for eating whatever I wanted. Crazy body. Thank you all for your concern.
If I survive the night I will check in tomorrow x0 -
Drink or eat something with a nice amount of Vitamin C. It always makes me feel better and can pack some calories (OJ, anyway).
I got my degree in England and had still never heard 'lurgy', lol! Especially one of ming (like Ming Dynasty Ming?) At least it's not Montezuma's Revenge!0 -
