what to eat and drink at 50th Birthday party

I have got two nights out this week for two 50th birthdays,first night will be drinks and nibbles after work and the second is a party at a hotel.
Would love ideas on what to drink would normally have wine or vodka and coke.
Have found out the food at the hotel is a hog roast so should be fine.
