Home made pasta with mince - calories?

Hi, this might be a silly and/or unanswerable question but I was just wondering whether the calculations of the home made pasta found in the fitnesspal search engine are more or less close to a generic no salt , only a few veggies and spices pasta sauce with mince? I just made my own calculations with the same basic ingredients as described above and the caloric count was higher than the one in the search engine. hmmm:huh:

Any oil used to cook it would make a huge difference. I think it's much safer to use your own calculations.

if you made the meal, and you know how much of which ingredients went in to it, then logging the individual ingredients (or creating an MFP recipe) is going to be a much more accurate count than anything already existing in the database. you have no idea what ratio of pasta/meat/veggies, how much oil in the sauce, etc if you just pick something someone else put in the system.

If it's a homemade recipe that a member entered, it could be anything. It depends on what ingredients and portion sizes were used when the recipe was entered. Your best bet when cooking at home is to enter your own recipe or enter all your ingredients separately after weighing and measuring them.
