I still buy physical media. Then I rip it, and put the CD in a drawer, never to be seen again. But I know it's there, and I know it will still be there even if my hard drive and Google's servers simultaneously fry themselves.

Call me old fashioned if you will, but I like receiving physical goods in exchange for my hard-earned. Not much chance of Amazon beating down my door and forcibly taking back a CD when they realize they didn't have license to sell it.

I also buy second hand media and get great deals. I considered paying $10 a month for Google unlimited music, or a similar service. Then realized that by spending just $10 a month on second hand media, within a couple of years my collection would grow substantially, and if I decided to stop paying the $10 a month, I could still listen to everything I already bought. Again, I rip those CDs and put them straight on the cloud.

Best of both worlds, if you ask me.

Wow...my memory is shot! I don't think it was all that long ago. I think the last one I bought was Mumford and Son's- Babel

I bought a CD off of these street accordion musicians during a trip to Europe in 2007:

I could swear I've bought others since then but Amazon says I bought these on January 2, 2010.

I think I've found some used CDs since then maybe.

Actually only a couple months ago. I've picked up CDs from some local bands that I liked listening to at events, or just that I wanted to support.

I only buy on CD. If I'm at a gig and the support band's good, I'll buy their CD whilst I'm there, so they get the full amount instead of a small cut. Most CDs I buy are of bands I hadn't heard of until an hour before buying it. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer at gigs.
