Work out music! What Inspires you? What do you think of?

Currently my "key" playlist hits for the gym are....

1) Miss New Booty- Bubba Sparks
2) I'm Sexy and I know It- LMFAO
3) Work B**ch- Britney Spears
4) Applause- Lady Gaga
5) Burn-Ellie Goulding
6)Can't Hold Us- Macklemore
7) Wake Me Up-Avicii
8) This Feeling-Avicii
9) Eye of the Tiger

Usually while working out I think of being a fierce heroin usually something something like a battle angel or a samurai. The reason I work out is to help my self to protect others! Lol cheesy fantasy but fun...what do you think of?

I listen to anything that pumps me up. Mainly metal.

I think of something that takes me to the next level, that gets me away from the feeling of the pain. I think of racing and that I can't give up. I have to keep going. Faster...Faster... No mistakes. It works!!
  • I love it! Do you have any particular metal songs that you like?

    Clappers...Wale
    Work B****..Brittany Spears
    Bad B******....Paul Wall
    Bow Down....Beyoncé
    Go Get It...T.I.
    Sunlight...Modestep
    Burn It Down...Awolnation
    Dunk In Love...Beyoncé
    Taro...Alt-J
    Do I Wanna Know...Artic Monkeys
    No Day Off...Wale

What inspires me? Life, seeing other people working out at my gym and losing weight, people in my gym encouraging one another.

What I think of? When it's leg/butt day, I'm listening to booty music, thinking about making my glutes burn so my butt an stay big, round, and sexy, thinking of getting my legs stronger, I picture my muscle fibers ripping and growing as I squat with the beat.

When I'm tired and have no more in me, I listen to Burn It Down or something like that. Really, any kind of music can motivate me.

For me it has to have a strong beat. Like AC/DC or some of the older Kid Rock. I switch up my playlist weekly to keep it fresh.

For anyone interested, I'm working on the second MFP workout playlist. The first one is sponsored on MOG and is linked on my profile, and was pretty popular. Since new music has come out, we're building a new one, this time on Spotify because it's more readily available.

    http://open.spotify.com/user/12566439/playlist/7u1vdOPC5pV378JvDYL9bU

Right now I'm moderating and open to suggestions. Trying to build a good, solid, non-cliche list to inspire the music lover as well as the beat... So sorry, not going to put "Eye of the Tiger" on it. ;)

    Currently my gym playlist includes:

    1) Original Pokemon Theme Song
    2) Welcome to Trollstad - Adrian Von Zieglar
    3) Angry Birds Theme Song - Orchestral
    4) Tetris Theme Song - Orchestral
    5) Change Your Mind - Sister Hazel

Those are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head. I have quite a few more. Adrian von Zieglar's music inspires me to keep going because his music is so heartfelt and beautiful. I just think of my stories that I write and mainly magic users. I know magic isn't real but the way that I have a few of my characters, it inspires me because of my love of Karate and the way that they use martial arts with their use of magic.

High intensity heavy/death/viking metal for my lifting & cardio.

I'll keep it brief with some good examples easily found on youtube of some of the bands I listen to.
Amon Amarth - Twilight of the thunder god
    Kalmah - Seventh Swamphony
    King of Asgard - Einharjar
    Ensiferum - From Afar
    Lunarsea - Next and Future
    Deals Death - Collapse
    Atlantean Kodex - Sol Invictus
    Testament - Rise up
    Wintersun - Battle against time

What inspires me? Probably myself with my weightloss and muscle gain.
What do I think of? How many more veins I can make visible on my forearms when I'm lifting hard. :D
  • Anything fast paced. But right now i like Soca or Reggae... Songs you would typically here in a zumba class.

I think of a stronger "me". This inspires and motivates me to keep going until I cant go any more.
  • I work out to Rock (usually Metal) and Trance. I HAVE to have music when working out. IT IS A MUST!!! :)

What inspires me? Strong-willed and positive people who won't let anything stop them from their goals.
What do I think of? While I'm working out, I think of achieving that bod I want and how this hard work will pay off.

I just wanted to add that I really appreciate that people have decided to follow the Spotify list! I know it's not everyone's taste but I like to think that they can at least keep pace ;)

As for when I work out, I just do what I do and usually day dream to the music. I'm having trouble with motivation right now... It's really hard to be the 400+lbs chick that is working hard and facing a huge pile of weight. So in the end, I remind myself that when I hit my goal weight, I'll have lost half of my physical body, and there are people out there that are in need of seeing a woman like me achieve. I do it to inspire, when I can't find the inspiration for myself.. Weird huh...
