What is keeping you from your goal?

I have lost 91 pounds which is awesome don't get me wrong. The last 39 is what is proving difficult. I know how to do it but I am not getting it done. I honestly can not figure out what is keeping me from my goal. Motivation? Laziness? I thought if I got some input from others that are in the same situation it would help....So what is keeping you from reaching your final goal?

My case it is laziness (also probably a bit of depression thrown in there too) but mostly laziness.

Sometimes you just have to stop making excuses and pick up your gym bag and head out the door.

Edit: To say congrats on the huge weight loss.

Laziness is a huge factor for me. Actually, a better way to put it would be inconvenience.

Why would I want to go shopping THEN go home and have to cook when there's this magical drive-thru window that gives me hot food, ready to eat, in a matter of minutes? I could save so much time to do what I want to do instead of torturing myself in the kitchen (I hate cooking).

Why would I want to go to the gym? I could clean my house, that's getting me up and moving, right? It doesn't make me break a sweat, but it has to count for something, shouldn't it?

Why would I choose to drink water when there's a perfectly delicious soda in the fridge? The bubbles satisfy my thirst, water doesn't.

I could keep going, but I think you get my point. I'm struggling in the same sense, but I don't have 91lbs lost to show for it, so fantastic work there OP!!!

    NOthing...as a matter of fact I hit my goal...didn't like what I saw...set a new one.

YOu either want it or you don't...

When I wasn't feeling that movtivated I looked at the success thread here that was enough for me.

Fantastic job!! Nothing is holding me back. I am progressing slowly but surely. I have been only losing 20 pounds a year but I am keeping it off. My husband calls me "crazy lady" when I wake up at 5:45am to walk ( which hasn't happened lately since temps have been below 0 in the am). "Keep swimming." Keep walking, keep logging and just keep keeping on the path to a healthy you.

Myself and my excuses. My overeating. I know it is all me, me, me. I just have to fix it and fix it fast.

Mental and physical laziness, self-made excuses, negative self talk, and maybe a little bit of fear that when I do reach my goal, it won't be the be all, end all fix for all of the problems that I've blamed on my weight forever.

I understand how you feel. Congrats on 91 pounds, I hope to get there soon! For me, I have noticed its more difficult to lose when I am not on a consistent schedule and stressed and streched thin. I stay within my calories, but don't eat the right things. All I can say is hang in there and keep going. You got this!

Well, not having a lot of weight to lose certainly isn't helping me. :( I only have about 5 pounds to lose, which means if I'm not extremely strict with myself I get nowhere... but when I'm extremely strict with myself, I eventually break down and just binge and undo all of my hard work.
