Alternative for Cardio

Options
Hello,

I injured my heel over the weekend and I can't put any weight on it. I weight train 3 times a week and do cardio 3 times a week. by running or skateboarding. My weight training is unaffected by this but I was wondering what can I do on my cardio days as an alternative to running and putting weight on my heel? Something I can do for 30-60 minutes that will really get a good sweat going. Any ideas? Thanks : )

Swimming. Although you can't feel the sweat a red face and increased heart rate should happen. Or jump on a stationary bike

Rowing machine maybe? Depends on how messed up your heel is because you push off with your legs a little.

Or how about a barbell complex?

Definitely swimming. I had a bad ankle sprain about 2 years ago and for about 3 months, I couldn't do any impact cardio. If you need a little extra stabilization in the pool, a neoprene sleeve/brace is useful.

Also, if it fits your budget, I highly recommend a waterproof MP3 player -- I get bored swimming laps (despite being a swimmer in high school), but listening to some tunes helps a lot :)

Thanks for the replys. I think I will do swimming. I found a indoor place in my town with $6 walk ins. I used to swim a lot and really loved doing it so this is an opportunity to get back into it.
