Hi everyone
I took the plunge and joined a gym today. I know I will feel abit self conciencious but hey I'm there for me and no one else. What I want to know is how do I calculate how many calories I will burn during a work out so I can log them on MFP. My first gym induction and programme starts on Friday so wish me luck.

I'd suggest a heart rate monitor... something with a chest strap. If cost is a concern you might want to look for an older model on Amazon or a used model (wash it very well) on Ebay.0

Very cool! You should feel proud of yourself.
I remember how scared I was when I first started. Then when I decided to start working in the weight room I thought I was going to be sick! Now I really enjoy it. However, some days it;s hard to feel motivated to go.
To answer your question, yes a heart rate monitor. Keep in mind, if you lift, you won't get an acurate burn from a HRM. It will work great for cardio though. Good luck and most of all ENJOY your workouts!0
