Kind of a gross question

How long must food remain in your body for you to get all the nutrients. If I am taking a pre-workout in the morning while doing #2 (to save time), hoping that it would kick in by the time I am done in the bathroom and start my workout, is the pre-workout just going to go through my body with the #2?

No, your body doesn't process it that fast. You're still good to work out.0

Except for water and alcohol, which leave the stomach and enter the bloodstream within 15 minutes, food can remain in your stomach for up to 10 hours depending on the level of mechanical breakdown is necessary. The it is released into the duodenum one teaspoon at a time every 30 seconds or so where nutrients are finally absorbed.0

Does this mean that you can eat food and *kitten* too soon before all nutritional benefits are reaped?0 -
Just because you're going to the bathroom while taking it, doesn't mean it is what is exiting your body. Unless like you're like me, in which case the mere thought of ingesting anything while sitting on the pot is enough to make you puke.0

I was hoping for something better, OP. I leave disappointed. Except, how can you put something in your mouth while you're taking a dump? That's gross.0 -
No. Waste matter accumulates in the colon after it has passed through the small intestine. There, water is reabsorbed back into the body turning the liquefied meal back into a solid. Once it's ready to pass, the body has taken all it can and no longer needs it.
If you'd like to test how long it takes food to pass through your system, eat a ghost pepper. You'll know exactly how long it takes some time the next day. :noway:0 -
Haha....you guys are teh awesome-o!!!
I am not eating stuff on the $hitter. I do drink water and coffee while on the crapper but thats not food. I have half hour from waking up to workout and C4 takes about 20-30 minutes to kick in and its liquid, not solid.
Today I had my C4 right after waking up and by the time I was ready for workout, yes I could feel the tingling. Guess it worked.0 -

What is it that you're trying to do? I don't think I understand. Do you not have enough time in your day to drink it first and then go to the bathroom? You have to multitask to save time? Just give yourself an extra five minutes in the morning.
Unless you have severe diarrhea, the stuff that comes out of your body when you poop is pretty much at least from 4 hours before. Approximately. Yeah, eating and drinking trigger your entire digestive system, and it is very common to have to poop shortly after eating. But you're pooping a previous meal which has already been making its way through your digestive tract. First in, first out. What you eat now will come out several hours from now.
So, will it work? I have no idea.0 -
