Macros question

Options
Everyday I fall just under my calories, but go over on my fats send protein. Usually under on carbs. Will this mess it up bad or do I just need to get close on the macro percentages?

I am making a lot of dietary changes to get it where it needs to be. I'll be eating my full calorie allotment soon.

if you just started out and haven't manually set your goal, then you're most liekly still eating too little protein if you're going by MFP standards.

Figure out your body type and work with macros from there and see what works and what doesn't for you, BodyBuilding.com has a good one

I use the protein & fiber goals as minimums & ignore fat & carbs. But if you ask 100 MFPers, you'll get 100 different answers. Everybody's different, and it will take trial & error to find what works for you.

Thank you, that was a good post. I do surpass my proteins, always. I eat a little over 100, which is my LBM, not my weight.

With only 2 lb. to lose, you must set your goal at .5 lb. The closer you are to goal, the more slowly you lose.

I can tell you that the P90X3 regimen percentage breakdown for me is supposed to be 40/30/30 Carb/Protein/Fat ... 1500 calories (but that plan assumes that I burn at least 300 cals working out, so really it's about 1200 calories when I subtract calories burned as MFP does). I have a tough time getting enough carbs...I usually make a big batch of a quinoa salad and have it with meals to help. Interesting...clearly I ate too many bad carbs before focusing on diet (like chips!) and since I cut out the bad carbs I'm usually coming in low. As long as you are eating clean foods you are doing your body good...and think going over on protein (as I often do) is not a bad thing, even a good thing if you are trying to build muscle.
