has anyone tried the insanity work outs?

Im starting monday and im so scared that I'll fail. That I wont be strong enough or be able to get through it but I really want to do good at it. So my questions are. Have you tried it? Did you like it? How much weight did you lose using it?

Im also looking for a diet and work out buddy on here!

I've done a few rounds of Insanity - I enjoy it as a workout program because it's structured and challenging, with quite a bit of variety, compared to some other video programs (I'm looking at you, 30 Day Shred!). Shaun T is entertaining and motivating and he makes me do way more pushups than I'd ever do on my own! I never saw much weight loss throughout the programs, but my strength and endurance always improve drastically, and I tend to shape up all over, losing inches.

There are multiple Insanity / Beachbody groups here on MFP - I recommend you join one. It's always good to have a support group with whom you can check in and have them know EXACTLY what hell you're going through! =P

Good luck and enjoy the program!

    I did Insanity.

It's tough. Trust me, don't go into it expecting to not take breaks. Even the people in the video are taking breaks.

I love it because it was a structured routine to follow and you go through a variety of exercises. It was also a challenge and I was determined to complete it.

Most people seem to lose inches, rather than lbs when doing this.

You're not supposed to be good at it to start with! When I first started I could only do 6 press up jacks... at the last fit test I could do 21!

I also didn't lose weight but I did lose body fat and my bum got more pert!

I'm starting it on Monday too, and I'm incredibly nervous but looking forward to it!

My gym is actually offering this as a class and I have gone the last three weeks and I LOVE it. It's hard.. don't get me wrong but what's nice is that they will show you modifications of the moves in case you have an issue that would prevent you from doing the full movement (for example I have a bad elbow that can only take so much weight for so long before it goes bad).

Make sure you have plenty of water and keep moving during the breaks.. which you will use and wish were longer.

    Good luck and have fun
