Heart Rate

SO - today was my first day back at the gym since I had my baby!! It was fantastic. I did the elliptical for 30 min and the bike for 30. While I was on the elliptical it kept telling me my heart rate - it got all the way up to 205 (YIKES) but was usually around 198 - it seems SO HIGH... but I didn't feel weird - I was sweating like a mad man and for sure felt like I was pushing myself but I never felt out of breath, or light headed or anything. SO... my question is - I would know right?? if my heart rate was scary high?? could the heart rate monitor on the elliptical just be wrong?? When I switched over to the bike it still said my heart rate was in the 180's - not sure what to think of all this.. suggestions?? comments??
