My name is Monica, I'm 42 and been heavy my whole life. I was a pretty constant 175-180 til I became pregnant with twins 11 years ago...after they were born and I went back to work all hell broke loose in my body LOL! I got up to 265 but in the last four months lost 35 pds. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis fir 14 years now which makes it very hard to exercise sometimes due to pain or just fatigue. I work full-time as a retail manager in a mall so I also stand on my feet all day. I've lost some of my motivation in the last few weeks so I'm hoping I'll get some real time support from others who understand my frustration with food!!!

Hi there - I am quite a few years older than you, but also have arthritis in both knees and injuries to both knees previously - most recent 1 year ago. I do know about how hard it can be to exercise when your knees are swollen and throb all of the time - especially at night when you really need to sleep. You don't want to take tylenol/ibuprofen, but the pain is sometimes so intense, you just don't have a choice. 2 1/2 months ago, I started out with walking about 4 - 5 miles per day (2 plus in the morning and 2 plus in the evening). I've since added a recumbent bike and the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD workout to my exercise regimen. In all since June 25, I have lost somewhere around 26 -28 lbs. So, I know that you can do this - some days you just have to "force" yourself to do something. The way I see it - even 20 minutes of walking with Willow (my dog), is more than I was doing before June 25th. I also really monitor my calories and work hard to eat really healthy. Again, YOU CAN DO THIS - I have confidence in you.

    Blessings

    Vickie
