I decided to check my TDEE at the weight I'm at know and on a sedentary setting my TDEE is 2250. If I take 20% from that it gives me about 1800. But, if I change my setting on MFP to lose 1lb/week with my sedentary(desk job) it gives me 1800 as well but, Im suppose to eat the exercise calories back (??) Doesnt that seem kind of odd or am I misunderstandign something?

no that's not odd...both calculations are based on the same thing...so they will be the same.

But with MFP if you exercise your gross calories go down ....

For example you burn 200 calories...you have now consumed 1600...you eat them to get to 1800.

With TDEE method it assumes all things stay constant so in order for you to lose weight and be sedentary you need 1800...

If you want to use TDEE and you are going to exercise than you add that in when you do the TDEE calculation and you will get a higher number.

TDEE method is great if you are constant with your activity...or the activity you perform is hard to guage ie weight lifting..

But if you aren't going to be constant stay with the MFP NEAT Method and only eat back 50-75% of those calories as the burns here are typically too high.

MFP thinks your TDEE is 2300 if it gives you 1800 for 1 lb/week loss.

The exercise calories are on top of the sedentary TDEE, and you eat them back on exercise days to maintain the same deficit.

thank you very much. I want to lose at a steady rate but wanted to make sure. Thanks again.
