Personal Trainer?

I would like to start lifting, but I do not know what I am doing. I can watch dvd's and video's on the internet but am sure I will still be doing things incorrectly at times. I don't want to join a gym because I am too self conscious in front of others. I have a treadmill, home gym machine, kettle bells, resistance bands, and free weights in my home gym ( barbells and dumbbells). Do you think a personal trainer is worth the money? How often do you think it would be of benefit?

I do not believe there is a need for a personal trainer.
Personally, I am doing stronglifts 5x5 and loving it! Here is a great link!

A good trainer will spot errors that you are not aware, and are not covered in the videos. The hard part is finding a qualified trainer. This article explains how to find a good one:

Especially see the certifications listed in the "Education/Certification" section.0
