So I used to have 1460 cals a day but because I changed my physical activity from 5 days a week to 1 it reduced me drastically to meet my weight loss goal. It seems a little low to me but at the same time I'm eating healthy and not working anymore (temporarily). Not sure what to do at this point. Is 1200 cals a day safe?

It is the minimum number of calories that is considered safe for a woman. Just make sure you hit that goal instead of consistently staying under it and you'll be fine. There are many people eating at 1200 cals who are okay with it.0

That's pretty normal. You could eat more if you decide to be more active in your daily life. Not working should allow you to lots of free time to burn calories throughout the day0

1200 is the norm for women I see on here0

I meant to putt "WORKING OUT". I wont be working out for a while (like exercising). Not I wont be going to work type thing.0 -
As I have lost weight mfp has dropped my calories. I had it set where I was losing 2 lbs per week. After the last loss they brought my calories down too low for me so I went ahead and changed my settings to lose 1-1/2 lbs per week and it brought the calories back up !!0

it's based off of a few things, not just how much you tell them you want to lose per week, but also how active you are on a daily basis. when i did it, it didn't care what i put as my exercising, but that may be different now, idk. If you want to start slower, you can always lower how much weight you want to lose per week, or even say that you are more active than you are (its always better to start off slower).0

I think MFP calories are pretty low as well. I use this formula: http://www.stevenscreek.com/goodies/calories.shtml
I add in age, weight and sex, then calculate calories. I do not enter any activities and it gives me resting metabolic rate. Mine came to 1,692 calories without any activity. I changed it to 1500 on MFP and that is what I go by. As I begin losing weight I may change it if I don't see any results.0 -
Ok great! Thank you for all your responses!0

it's the norm because a lot of women put in 2lbs a week...
Try 1/2lb or 1lb depending on how much you want to lose.0
