My monthly is gone...

Are any other ladies very prone to loosing their period when you start exercising? Over a year ago I started loosing weight to have a baby and I stopped having periods. I slowed waaayyy down then as advised per my Dr. it still never came naturally. We did fertility meds blah blah, got pregnant. Now I'm in my 2nd month of exercising and guess what.. Pretty sure my periods gone again. I don't mind really- we're done with babies (husband got snipped when I was pregnant). Just curious..?

btw I don't do extreme stuff. I'm 190lb, 5'1. I alternate jogging/ walking on treadmill (more walking lol) and various circuits I find on youtube/pinterest.

    I know if your at an extremely low body weight you can lose your period. Many body builders do when they get to their competition weight etc but you are not in that category and it sounds like your exercise is not extreme either so I am no help.

    Perhaps a hormonal issue? Might pay to go get it checked out. Better safe than sorry. x

    If not, then go talk to your OB

    I burn maybe 300cal five days a week. I'm not horribly worried about it. Like I said, I don't need it for babies, and I'm losing weight, I feel great. Just curious is this is common for women starting to exercise.

    Menopause/perimenopause? (early onset? --you don't mention your age)
    Pregnant? (Vasectomies have a high rate of success, but there are cases in which fertility resumes.)
    PCOS?

    There are so many things that could be the cause.
    For example, I'mm 22 (read not anywhere near menopause) 5'3 171-175 (read not super low body fat) and I haven't had a period since I was 17. It just stopped one day and never came back. I got pregnant at 19 (so no fertility issues there) come to find out something as random as one of the medications that I had to take for my Bipolar disorder permanently (so far) altered my hormones a bit and now my testosterone production is higher and my estrogen is lower than where they should be, nothing crazy but just enough. So it could literally be anything, and it's not always a bad thing; I save tons on not buying tampons lol.

    How long has it been? I skipped a period a couple months ago. Came back the next month. If you're worried, I'd definitely get it checked out though, could be some hormonal imbalance.
