    To lose weight you need to eat above your BMR and below your TDEE! If you eat below your BMR you will harm your body as BMR is the amount of calories that your body needs to function properly. You will burn your BMR by doing nothing!

    Do you have evidence that this is the case?
    I have eaten below my BMR while on the way to being healthiest I have been. Actually, I do sometimes now too and while I'm cardiio is a little down from my best, my weights are at a high.

    The whole idea of eating at a deficit is that your are burning more than you are eating.
    I don't see that it makes much difference if the energy is needed for your general bodily functions or muscles. Further, I'd suggest that at different times of the day, it's likely energy will generally come from fat, or come from food that's been eaten.
