Getting back into it-Questions on counting Macros?!

Hey. I just recently started working out again. I was in great shape (trained 5 days/week with cardio). I fell off after I had my daughter. My boyfriend is extremely fit, so we are working out together now. I began about a week ago. I am weight training with him about 4-5 times a week, but only fitting in about 20 minutes of cardio a day. I heard about counting macros and am a little confused about it all. It seems like so much work! I need help deciding if it's for me or not. Can anyone help!?
