I need a boost...

I am new to MFP and have been logging in for 11 days now. So far I am doing good with staying close or right at my calorie goal for the day. There are some days that I go over but not by a whole lot. My biggest thing is food. I love to eat! I mean I really love to eat. If it is loaded with carbs, sugars and fats...that is my thing. I am working on portion control right now. That is my biggest food goal. Although I love to eat, did I mention that already, I do not like vegetables and fat free crap. I love fast food and quick meals as I am a mother of 3, works full time and goes to school part time. I do cook veggies for my kids as I am one of those moms that does not practice what they preach. I understand the healthy benefits of veggies but truthfully they make me gag. I am working on exercising at home with Zumba and Yoga. I have not been very motivated doing that in the past few days but I do love it. I look like a total goober trying to do both and that is why I do it by myself. I have thought about letting my 5 year old join in on the exercising but she is like a little contortionist and she thinks its funny that I cannot touch my toes much less put my feet behind my head. I don't know, we'll see. I think it would be good bonding. Does anyone else work out with their kids? Also, I tend to eat my biggest meal at night. Is this that big of a problem? It's hard not to when we prepare a meal for 5. I am doing better on my sodas. I have to have a carbonated beverage in the morning like most people do coffee but I am getting better about having water with my lunch and dinner. I would like to increase the amount of weight loss weekly but I cannot give up my food. After my first weigh in on Monday I had lost 2lbs.
Now that I am finished with my random thoughts, does anyone have any tips, tricks or advice that I could use?

    Yeah.

Do what you want to do. Try different things and do what works for you. If you dont like things, learn new ways to cook them.

Otherwise when youre old and frail and prone to injury and sickness, you'll have to say it was because you didnt practice what you preach.

Be better than that. Kids will listen more to what you do than what you say.

Carbs, sugar, and fats huh? Sounds like your taste buds need a little "flavor adjustment". Only when you explore new foods (vegetables included), will you start to reprogram the way you eat. But I agree with the other poster....your kids will do as you do, not as you say. Good luck!

I wonder if "juicing" might be of benefit to you. We used to a long time ago and I was really surprised and plan on finding a juicer soon to get back into it. You can easily mask the taste of veggies with fruit. Like juicing 2 or 3 brocholi florets with a beet and a carrot and something sweet like an apple, orange, or some pineapple. Ask around where you work or go to school and see if anyone does juicing and ask if you could come by and try some. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Welcome....I started a month ago and today I hit my half way goal point. I have lost 10 pounds since January 1st. I noticed the other day I am totally addicted to the gym. I count the minutes until I can get back. If you knew me you would think that is crazy talk. My family thinks I have gone insane. I probably have but I have never felt better in all my life. Looks like we have the same cravings. Anything I can do to help let me know. Good luck.
