Re-introducing myself!

Greetings, all! I first signed-up with this website in 2012, and I think I may have introduced myself at that time, then did as so many do when they try to lose weight - I never came back. Well, this is a new time, a new me, and I have lots of incentive now to lose (diagnosed with diabetes last May), so as of two days ago...I'm back to MFP!

Even though I have lots of medical incentive to lose, I still struggle every day with staying on course. One of the best incentives I have found is support from others (and staying away from pizza!). If you are in the same boat, shoot me a note and say hi! I've learned a few things over time but have soooo much more to learn, and always welcome new ideas and a friendly voice (text?).

Wishing everyone success!

Mike

    Good luck this time around!

Here is my new pizza solution...but it only works if you like mushrooms. Two portobello mushroom caps. Bake at 375 for 10 min. Remove excess liquid. Top with tomato sauce souped up with herbs. Add other veggies - onion, green peppers if you like, and top with some low fat mozzarella/parmesan. Bake 10 more minutes.

Satisfies my pizza cravings, very low cal., super easy.

Best of luck. This is a pretty good plan especially when you have support at home as well.

I'm a 51 year old dad and I've been doing this since September. One of my motivators was my annual showing my blood sugar in the high normal; range. Not in the diabetic range yet but it was a motivator for me, so I hear what your saying.

Feel free to add me as friend if you like

Thank you so much! I enjoy making different things. Not real big on portabellas, but I'm open to change. Lo-cal doesn't always mean luscious, but we can always try! Variety is so important.

Was happy to read about you and your family. That is so special.

All the best to you and yours!

Thank you for your comments! Yes, please do pay attention to that blood sugar number. The physician I had when I was told I was a little high - sort-of pre-diabetic - was an *kitten* and acted like it was no big deal. Well, here I am. My biggest goal in life right now is to get off of my meds and to be healthy now and when I get old.

Anyway, one of the best things any of us can do for our children is to be healthy for them. I wish you the best in your goals.

    Best regards,

    Mike
