Breakfast

I am in a rut where my breakfast is concerned! I'm sick of eating the same old thing every day (eggs). Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

There is so much you can do with eggs to keep them from becoming boring! But, there is always oatmeal, fruit, smoothie, yogurt, some sort of protein shake...it really depends on your "dietary needs"...

I usually eat an whole grain english muffin with fried egg, spinach, fat free cheese, and turkey deli meat. Lots of protein and it fills me up. Or a bowl of oatmeal or nutella and bananas on a whole wheat Eggo waffle.

Someone mentioned adding a tbls of pb to oatmeal. i do it consistently now - so good. Today I added a banana too - it made me really happy!!!
I am a huge fan of cereal - i don't care what anyone says. I eat cereal every day - either snack or breakfast. I love Cheerios and Chex. Not a ton of protein but I love them!
Sometimes I make a protein shake with milk, protein powder, and a banana
    Yogurt and granola
English muffin with one tbls of pb and one tbls jelly

I keep my breakfast super super simple though and won't take more than 3 minutes to make anything.

I actually just made these last night, I doubled the amount of egg whites, put them on some English muffins and froze for some easy breakfast sandwiches. I plan on adding a tablespoon of salsa to each as well.

    Leftovers from dinner
    Pizza
    Steak and bacon
    Oatmeal
    Cereal
    Toast
    Doughnuts
    Trout or salmon
    biscuits and gravy
    grits
    bowl of fruit
    rice with milk and sugar
    protein shake
    yogurt
    stir-fry

Not sure it would be possible for me to get sick of eggs, but there is a list of alternatives. Personally, I'd add eggs to most of them.

Cooked oats, yogurt, cottage cheese, cereal bars, bagels, friut, and etc. Good luck, and remember you don't have to breakfast food, for breakfast, you can have leftovers from day before...

I have been loving this steel cut oatmeal recipe for the crock pot. It makes 8 servings which I put in individual tupperware so its quick and easy for work days. And you can change up what you put on it...right now I'm on a walnut, dried apple, flax seed and almond milk kick. But I've also done berries, almonds, bananas...

And because of the recipe (probably the apple cider?) it is sweet enough that I don't add any sugar.

I've been making baked oatmeal - usually following (loosely) a Chocolate Covered Katie recipe. I especially love the peanut butter/chocolate one. YUM.

Why not up the protein ante and have a big ole steak to start your morning... Mmmm.
  • Thanks everyone! I think eggs are getting boring for me because I have changed up the way I make them so many times to try and make them interesting that I feel that I'm running out of things to do with them (which I can't believe is possible!)... I've been eating them for breakfast every day for the past 6 months or more, so I was just looking for a bit of variety! You all are awesome, thanks for the ideas!
