Starvation Mode Curiosity

So MFP barks at me when I consume less than 1,200 calories "your body could go into Starvation Mode" and I get it, sort of.

So I'm curioius, what is your overall perception of Starvation Mode, real, not real, how fast does a body move in and out of Starvation Mode - i.e. if I eat under 1,200 for two days, followed by 1,400 the next day, is my metabolism likely to change and if so, by how much?

Also, if I eat say 1,300 to 1,500 but burn off 400 through exercise, will Starvation Mode hit because the Net is below 1,200?

Your feedback is appreciated!

There are lots of threads on this with tons of info.

Basically it is something alot of people freak out about who are just misinformed. Yes it exists, no you will not go into it if you listen to your body.

Two days will not send you into starvation mode.

Eating less that 1200 calories is pretty tough for most people, if you are doing that and feeling satisfied I would reccommend you also read some of the threads on accurate logging because I would guess you are underestimating your intake.
