Confused & Looking for Advice, Please!

Tomorrow I start month 2 of my "lifestyle change." I started January 1 at a weight of 173.5 and am happy to report as of this morning I am down to 161.5 (12 pounds in one month and very happy about it). My calories are set at 1,200/day.

I went into "my goals" to take a look at things and was rather confused about the figures (see below). My goal is to get to 140 lbs and to lose 2 lbs a week. For some reason, this is what it give me....

Your suggested nutrition and fitness goals.

Nutritional goals Target
Net Calories Consumed* / Day 1,200 Calories / Day
Carbs / Day 150.0 g
Fat / Day 40.0 g
Protein / Day 60.0 g

*Net calories consumed = total calories consumed - exercise calories burned. So the more you exercise, the more you can eat!
Fitness Goals Target
Calories Burned / Week 1,040 Calories / Week
Workouts / Weekends 5 workouts
Minutes / Workout 35 minutes

If you follow this plan...
Your projected weight loss is 1.1 lbs/week

You should lose 5.5 lbs by March 7

I want to lose more than 1.1 lbs/week and I want to defintely lose more than 5.5 lbs by March 7!!! What do I need to do to keep going at the rate I'm going?

Confused!

what do you need? to re-evaluate your goals is what you need to do.

Why so fast? You didn't gain it in 3months....

The idea that this is a lifestyle change means you make changes for life...not 3months...

This is not a sprint, it's a marathon with no finish line.

I could be mistaken (because I've never encountered this issue due to 2lbs off my TDEE is not under 1200cals), but I believe MFP is not allowing you to go below 1200 cals. Which is why it's showing 1.1lbs a week?

If you would like to lose more than that, I'd suggest probably creating a bigger deficit through exercise. Burn calories, nourish your body with as much food as possible and still lose weight. As far as fibbing the numbers to get that to work for 2lbs/wk, I'm currently not in math mode to help you figure that out.

    +1

Also, to hit 2 lbs/week would put you below 1200 calories, which MFP will not go lower. The lowest recommended calories for a woman (and this usually applies to petite women) is 1200 calories.

So yeah, re-evaluate your goals and lose at a slower pace. It's not a race! Good luck.

Well I want to be a fairy princess with a pet unicorn. Some things just aren't realistic though.
