No Motivation

I have motivation to lose weight. I have motivation to exercise and get healthy.

Today, though, it FEELS like I have no motivation or energy to do much exercise. A part of this, I think, is because I'm sore from my core down due to the exercises I did on Thursday and the 95 minute walk I did yesterday. It's early Saturday morning, almost 7:30 AM on the East Coast, and I'm more tempted to crawl back into bed and go back to sleep than to work out.

I think I'm having a low day, I'm not sure. I still want to exercise, or get some sort of an exercise routine in today. I always do Fitness Blender videos, or go for a walk. Today...I'm in a funk.

Am I being lazy? What can I do to get myself up and going today? What are some good tips to get motivated? I don't want to be lazy or a sloth. But damn, this mood isn't going away without a fight....

    Lazy? Fight? Motivation?

I don't know what any of those words have to do with anything. Either decide to get up and handle your business or don't. It's no more complicated than that

Yeah, I think you just have to learn to do it anyway, even if you don't feel motivated. I certainly don't feel motivated to exercise a lot of the time, but I do because it's important to me. Just like, I don't always feel motivated to go to work, but I go anyway because I don't want the consequences of not going.

I don't know if you have depression (with your mention of a "low day"), but if you do then I'm sure you know that exercise is good for that. I have depression, and sometimes knowing how important exercise is to manage my mood is the main thing that gets me out of the door to go and workout.

One thing I tell myself when I feel that way is I have never regretted working out, but it have regretted skipping a workout. So I say get up, get your gear on, and just do it.
