activity level

Hi MFP friends. I have a question about activity level. Not sure what to put down. I work a 12 hour swing shift in a paper mill. Sometimes I run my a** off for twelve hours. Other times I can sit for about 6 of those twelve. I'm trying to eat anywhere from 1200-1500 cal a day and hoping to lose 2 pounds a week but not seeing much for results. Should I lower my activity level on here?

First I would make sure my intake was being estimated correctly. Do you use a food scale? How do you determine what to log as your serving of whatever? Numerous studies show that guestimating and eyeballing portions can result in as much as 30-50% underestimation of consumption. Precision is very key here, as is consistency...which is why I don't ever really advice cheat days and what not either.

Also, when you so "not much for results" you do have to realize you aren't going to lose weight like the Biggest Loser...for one, they do all kinds of crazy **** behind the scenes that isn't healthy and for another they are tremendously overweight individuals. The less weight you have to lose...the smaller the fat stores, the slower it has to go...just the way it goes. Just mentioning this because a lot of people have extremely unrealistic expectations for how quickly they will lose their weight...it's an excruciatingly slow process.

I either use mfp portion sizes or what ever it says on the pkg. For instance, two pieces of bread is 90 cal and a tbl of butter is 100. What do you think about activity level?
