I'm sure I'm not the only person out there who needs a physical and can't get one because it isn't covered by insurance. I just found out that Walgreens is doing a national tour with FREE health screenings for cholesterol, bp, bone density, glucose levels, BMI -- check out http://www.wellnesstour2010.com/ for more information! I know most of these from other doctor's visits... but I will definitely be trying to find one in my area just to check on glucose levels!

You also might want to check with your local hospital. Ours has an RV that is equiped for basic physical testing including the ekg and lab work that goes around to different places and does testing. Different site, different tests. Occasionally they do the aortic ultrasounds, mamograms and bone density testing. They mail the test results to your doctor as well as to you. They sometimes charge a minimal fee, sometimes it's free. Our hospital will do free BP checks anytime day or night. Another thing to check is if your area is having a health fair. They recently had one here and a couple thousand people got free physicals, including a follow up visit with a physician if the testing indicated a need.
