What if any supplements are you taking? What is the purpose of the supplement you are using?
Just curious on what supplements are worth it and what each one does. I am not currently taking any, but I am thinking about trying some out. Not sure where to start, I'm trying to lose weight not gain.
Thanks for your feedback.

My list:
Morning:
C-500 with bioflavanoids
a B complex
Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM
a "mega' that has all kinds of stuff in it.. from C and D and E to Calcium and co-q 10.
Lunch:
probiiotic capsule
glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM
Dinner:
C-500
D3
Cal-Mag-zinc.
I smoke, so C is vital. When I take it regularly (2 or 3 times a day) I don't get colds. When I skip it, I do. Plus the antihistamine effect works great for my sinus issues.
the Glucosamine works absolute wonders for my bad knees and shoulder. It takes a few weeks to kick in, but once it does, it's like joint oil.
the multi is mostly just trace stuff, plus the co-q-10, and I can tell when I don't get it.
B works like an energy drink for me, more than the coffee I take it with.
I'm in the NOrth, it's winter, and I know I'm low on D, so I take it, effectively, twice a day (one in the multi, one in a specific D capsule).
There's a wonderful book(s) called "life extension: A practical scientific approach" and supplemental works by Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw. They have just about everything you could ever want to know about supplements, enzymes, etc, and what they do.
They also have a nifty book about the war between the FDA and the supplement industry.0 -
Fish Oil - Unless you eat a lot of fish already, fish oil is almost always a good idea.
Glucosamine - Family history of joint problems, take this to help prevent potential issues.
Co q 10 - Good for your heart.
Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc/Vitamin D - Cover my bases.
Pre-workout I use a homemade mix of BCAA's, Beta-Alanine, L-Arginine, and Creatine. All of these have been shown to have some effect on workout performance/muscle recovery.0 -

I use to take heaps off stuff, but now just keep it simple and to be honest I feel better and my wallet does as well lol
Protein powder before and after weights as well as creatine.
Multivitamin and also fish oil that's it0 -
Multivitamin, straight turmeric (I make my own), and Calcium with Vitamin D from my doctor. I also use protein powder. I don't like taking too much because I like getting things from food, but I also can't afford a whole bunch of stuff and throw up if I take too much. Even with food.0

Super B Complex
C with Zinc
D3
Calcium
AlphaLean Omega blend
Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM
Milk thistle
Multi for women for the remnant vits and mins
Maybe none of them help, but it's my choice.0 -
i'm veggie, so a B-complex daily. fish oil, spirulina tabs and cordyceps (when i can afford them).
I get enough vit C from my diet, but sometimes I add in a liquid vitamin C. I take it as a good sign that I've been healthy and not sick in 3 years on this regimen.0
