Investing in Exercise Equipment

So I am in a share house at uni and am on the top floor with someone right below me. So this rules out any heavy equipment or anything that requires me to leap about too vigorously (not fair on the people below me). I also do not have a massive amount of room.

I plan to go to JDD Sports or Sports Direct this week and get some of those small handheld weights and a yoga mat but I am new to this and does anyone have some suggestions for anything else? I need to generally lose weight overall and also tone up my tummy.

I do cardio routines regularly but am looking for any equipment I could incorporate into some new workouts.

Thanks :-)

I absolutely love my resistance bands. They don't take up a lot of space, the exercises I can do with them is endless, and I got a set that has a few difference bands, so I can really feel the burn. Sounds like they'd be good if you're limited on space and what you can do. Also, don't forget about youtube. Zuzka Light has workouts (mostly cardio, but she does do strength too) that are for hotel rooms or small spaces as well as quiet ones, Blogilates has great strength routines that don't require equipment but are still super intense and fun, and there are a ton of others like LiveStrongWoman, XHIIT, Fitness Blender, and Be Fit. A lot of those types of channels don't require a lot of stuff and it's all free. It'll save you some money!
