Felling Fed up!

Hi. This is my first time posting but I had a bit of a disappointment this week and since then I'm having real trouble staying on track - it doesn't help that my husband is chomping his way through the remnants of Christmas biscuits!! I'd value some support and any ideas to help me find my mojo again!

Set yourself up a calorie deficit - use MFP or TDEE and create your goal. You can still eat cookies etc. but you need to learn about portion control. In the beginning it's probably best to reduce it in total to once/twice a week to learn about moderation which is something that becomes easier with practice. Other than that, create a calorie deficit, do some exercise if you feel fed up - should make you feel better and be patient.

Yes, I'm not good at moderation - either extreme is easier! What's TDEE?

That's something you have to learn. It's a lot easier than 'dieting' which implies you cannot have any of the foods you enjoy which is completely false - this is why so many people constantly regain their 'lost' weight. A lot of people lost a lot of weight by moderation and calorie control, exercise will help with your health and fitness and probably your mood/feeling stressed. I recommend a combination of both.

"Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) quantifies the number of calories you burn in a day. This measure is best estimated by scaling your Basal Metabolic Rate to your level of activity. TDEE is critical in tailoring your nutrition plan to desired fitness goals." - Fitness Frog (Use their calculator). Then you minus 10-20% depending on how much you want to lose to create your deficit or simply use MFP settings to determine it.
