HRM Issues

I don't know where else to post this...

I have a Polar HRM.

What would make your HRM read higher? I couldn't get my HR to my target zone the entire time I was running. Even during my 1 minute walk time, I couldn't get it below 159. I'm wearing different gear and wonder if that messed with the reading any. Would that make it higher? I also haven't been running in over 2 weeks too and expected some struggle.

My monitor said I burned 681 calories but Runkeeper had me at 443. Which one should I believe?
