How "low" is a typical low sodium diet. I've found very conflicting ideas on how much sodium and average person should take in during the day.0

The new recommended sodium guidelines are lower now recommend less than 1800mg/day, but I may be wrong on the exact number. Prior to that, the RDA was less than 2500mg/day . Remember there is 2000mg in every teaspoon of table salt. It adds up fast.
For me, I don't look for salt free products, because packaged foods are almost always sodium traps. I've learned how to add flavor with herbs and seasonings, which is great because less than a year ago, I could mess up boiling water!0
