Hey y'all! My name is Mel, I'm a 22 year old mom of two who is happily married. I had ALOT of problems with my pregnancies and gained around 80 lbs with my first, lost 40 then gained it all back. I've managed to loose 90lbs by myself (65 in the last 14ish months) and now looking for new friends for motivation. I log everyday but lately since I'm stuck I'm feeling discouraged, hope I make some new friends to cheer on to their goals!.

Hello, my name is Melanie and this is the first time I have used My fitness pal. I was given a fit bit by a friend and have started using it. Unfortunately, I have found out just how sedentary I really am after fooling myself into thinking I wasn't too bad. Working in an office doing telephonic case management doesn't really allow for a great deal of exercise during the day. I am still trying to figure out this site. I have been heavy all my life despite being very active as a younger woman. I am a 49 yo single mother of a 10 yo diva daughter. I am having a hard time working in exercise. I hate getting up early and once I am home I have my daughter to finish home work, eat dinner and get to bed. I am also peri-menapausal which only increases the degree of difficulty. I know that sounds like whining but I have tried many times to lose weight and have been discouraged every time. Normally, I don't tell people I am trying to change my lifestyle due to the food Nazis who mean well but make the situation worse, but I also need to be kept accountable. Perhaps this will be a better option for me. I have a large amount of weight to lose (>100 pounds) and I am tired of being tired if you know what I mean. I am trying to eat a carb at breakfast along with a protein and fruit for breakfast and salads with a lean protein for lunch. Three days per week my mother helps me with my daughter and she cooks for us which is great but dinner is often the comfort foods I ate as a child which got me into this mess. I'm not blaming my mother but we are from the South.......land of over cooked vegetables and lots of high fat foods. Any tips or suggestions any one has would be much appreciated. Thanks for listening.0
