I think I'm part camel

It is the only sensible reason I can think of for why I have managed to gain weight while upping my exercise and eating at a deficit.
Yes a real deficit I weigh everything and log every morsel of food I eat.
I know it must be water retention but seeing as my weight has gone up 4lb since the beginning of the January during which time I have worked out 6 days a week for approximately 1hour with a mix of weights and cardio. I have a personal trainer so the intensity has been there, left to my own devices I would convince myself that I burn at least 1000 calories just arriving at the gym.
I don't eat back my exercise calories as I find they are too tricky to calculate accurately so I give myself 1500 calories a day, over the course of the last month I have been 3000 calories below this goal which leads to about 12000 calories below what should maintain my weight.
The majority of my intake is vegetables and protein with some fruit thrown in. I've tried to avoid the refined carbs for this month as an experiment to see if it made a difference. I had varying success with this.
I at least expected it all to balance out and the stupid scale to say the same number not be higher.
So now I'm fed up and trying to focus on the inch loss which I have achieved, I've lost 3-4" on waist and hips and 2-3" on thighs since October. I'm stronger and healthier than before so I'm getting even more frustrated with myself that I can't stop caring about a stupid number on a scale when it is so pointless.
Sorry just a general rant because its Monday and I'm impatient for event the tiniest result.
Oh just to clarify, I've been on this sort of routine for about 18 months and at my lowest I have lost a grand total of 14lbs so its not like I expect overnight or should I say overmonth success

Congrats on the inches lost! If I lost those inches, I'd be thrilled.
Not sure what's going on though with the weight gain.... Maybe play around with the calories a bit more and find the point at which you lose.0 -
Thanks
I am pleased on the inch loss and I know that's what is really important.... I just don't understand the gain in weight.
I like to understand these things it helps me not focus so much on the silly number on the scales0
