I love to eat food. I have issues. I like to eat things in bulk. It is probably why I eat a lot of carbs, because I feel I get more food per calories. I need to tweak that. Just staying under my calories is no longer working as smoothly for me. I go over carbs every day (by a lot) and stay under on Protein/Fats by a lot. I need to change that. Question---what are good low-cal proteins? I do not like milk or milkshakes so I won't drink a protein drink. Other than meat, beans, nuts, greek yogurt, etc what are good foods that the protein is high and the calories are low? Or do I live in a dream world?

Cheese, eggs, but yeah, not really low calorie. Cottage cheese maybe...

I've been having a similar issue, trying to add more protein to my diet without adding a lot of carbs (diabetes). Cheese and eggs are options (other than those listed).

I'm learning you can mix protein powder with water, juice and many other things such as oatmeal. Have you tired almond milk? I've heard it's pretty good for mixing with the powder, along with cocao powder. As I keep researching it, I think I'm going to just give it a try. It could be the taste is too awful for me but nothing tried nothing gained right? LOL

You could try swapping out some of your higher carb selections for something lower, to get "more bang for the buck" so to speak. I'm using Mission Carb Balance tortilla wraps instead of sandwich bread for example. They have extra protein and fiber, so the net carbs is around 6. That frees up some "leftover" carbs for me to use somewhere else in the day.

Yeah, you can add protein powder to oatmeal, yogurt, or even coffee.

I like eating Weight Control Instant Oatmeal (Maple/Brown Sugar). If I buy a protein powder, how many calories are in them? Is there a vanilla flavor? How much do I use? Etc. (I don't like the taste or consistency of milk or milkshakes. So I can't do almond milk or soy milk or whatever there is out there).

If you're under your calories, it's ok to take from Fat and eat Carbs instead, as long as YOU feel good, body wise.
