Gained 5lbs in 1 week?

I usually weigh myself on Sundays. Yesterday it showed that I gained 5 lbs this week!

I ate a cheeseburger last week and missed a day at the gym because it snowed the day I was planning on going. I am making up for that this week, though, by going an extra day to the gym. I mean I already went yesterday and this morning, and going to try and go atleast 1-2 more times. I usually only go to the gym twice a week, Once during the weekend and then once on Wednesday or Thursday.

I've read that its okay to treat yourself every once in a while. How did a cheeseburger cause me to gain 5 lbs? That is a bit ridiculous.

Now I am so frustrated and angry. I feel so bloated and my jeans are a little snug! What is going on??? Not only that, I weighed myself after I went to the gym this morning and I'm even heavier than I was yesterday!!!!

I feel like I am blowing up like a balloon and have no control over it.

What could cause me to gain back so much weight so quickly?

TOM? Eating lots of sodium? I noticed you don't log your food. How do you know if you are eating at a deficit?

It's IMPOSSIBLE (or very nearly impossible) to gain 5 pounds in one week. It could be a combination of normal weight fluctuation and water retention if you've eaten a lot of sodium (ie: burger) and not drank a lot of water.

Also, I'm guess you're female from your name, if your time of the month is coming up, you're more likely to see the scale creep up a little and feel bloated and icky.

Stick with it and weigh next week (or in 2 weeks).

You are not logging your food!
you are most likely eating more and burning less calories than you think you are. You won't lose weight immediately so there is no point in weighing yourself right after the gym. You should be doing at least 30-45 mins of sweaty activity 3 times a week.
Some of it could be water weight from a high salt intake but not the whole 5 pounds. Start logging your calories, I can guarantee you it'll change how you eat and exercise.
