Hello
I'm currently trying to settle back into a 'normal' relationship with food and it would be great to make a few friends of a similar size to get a rough idea how you maintain.
A bit of background: I'm 23 and have always been around 116lbs despite being crazy in love with food. I was pretty lucky that I never had to watch what I was eating; I just tried to eat as much fruit and veg as possible and go for a run a few times a week but I also drank every other weekend, had the occasional pizza, cake and second helpings of roast dinner. About a year ago I suddenly put on a stone which scared the crap out of me! It may not seem like much but it really made a difference to my figure and the way my clothes fitted. I was devastated and I think I've put it down to comfort eating a lot after I stopped taking antidepressants. I tried to diet and in the end I went down the horrible road of restricting, exercising far too much and then binging. My head got pretty messed up and I was underweight for a few months. Anyway, I've got back to 116lbs, have started strength training as well as running and am trying to eat like I always used to. I'm having a hard time figuring out what I should eat and that kind of thing. I'm pretty sure I still don't eat enough, or at least my calories aren't balanced out enough over the week. I'd like to eventually get back to how I was before; never counting calories (I didn't even know what a calorie was until last year) and just being able to tell how much I should eat by the way I feel.
I'm not looking for people who have been through the same thing as me, just like minded people who enjoy eating healthily, exercising but also have ice cream and alcohol when they want to. It would be so reassuring to share recipes and advice for maintaining a healthy weight while still enjoying life, and it would be great to make some new friends I've put UK because I have some friends from the Canada and America on here already and I have no idea what half the food in their diaries actually is! If you're not from the UK i'd still like to be friends but please tell me what your food is if I don't know because I'm sure it's amazing!
Thanks for reading if you've got this far
